INTERNAL PE Teacher, The Link Secondary School

Location: The Link School, (Secondary site) 82-86 Croydon Road, Beddington, CR0 4PD

Contract: Full time and permanent

Start: 1st September 2025

The Link School specialises in meeting the needs of 160 students from 4-19 with Speech, Language and Communication difficulties including autistic spectrum conditions and Pathological Demand Avoidance. In addition to the Primary and Secondary sites, it also has a satellite provision which provides a safe and nurturing environment for autistic young people who show demand avoidant profiles.

Situated in the London Borough of Sutton all four sites are easily accessible by public transport and well placed to draw upon a wide range of leisure, recreational and educational facilities having easy access to Surrey and London.

The school provides a warm, safe, friendly and nurturing environment, which helps pupils to learn, express their ideas, communicate, develop friendships and grow in confidence and self- esteem.

The ideal candidate

To be considered a real asset to the school, you must demonstrate:

  • An understanding/knowledge and experience of working with children with special needs, particularly those with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • An ability to teach PE across the secondary site
  • An ability to support students through accredited courses, pre-entry, entry level 1 to 3, level 1 and 2, Btechs, including a few students to GCSE level
  • Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
  • An energetic and enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude
  • A friendly and professional manner
  • Hold a recognised full teaching qualification including QTS
  • An understanding of alternative and therapeutic interventions for student progression
  • Innovation and competence in utilising resources to provide a stimulating learning environment
  • Commitment to achieving the highest possible standards for all learners with a proven record of enabling learners to fulfil their potential
