The Link School pupils enjoy Hindleap adventure

Pupils from The Link School enjoyed an exciting three-day residential trip to Hindleap Warren in Ashdown Forest from 13–15 May. The children embraced a wide range of outdoor activities designed to build confidence, teamwork and independence, including team-building challenges, archery, high ropes and a thrilling zip line. Despite some dramatic weather on the first day, spirits remained high as pupils worked together, supported one another and made the most of every opportunity.

A particular highlight was exploring the woodland trails and taking part in outdoor adventures in the forest. The children also challenged themselves on the Pentagon Lower high ropes course and climbing wall, with many demonstrating remarkable courage and resilience as they stepped outside their comfort zones. Evenings were equally enjoyable, with a Link disco, delicious meals and a relaxing hot chocolate party providing opportunities to unwind and socialise with friends.

For many pupils, this was their first experience of staying away from home, making their achievements even more significant. Throughout the residential, they showed growing independence, strengthened friendships and developed valuable communication and life skills. Staff were incredibly proud of the way every child approached the experience, creating lasting memories while developing skills that will support them both in school and beyond.
