The Link School brings careers to life during National Careers Week

National Careers Week, which began on 2 March, transformed The Link School into a vibrant hub of hands-on learning, as students explored key growth sectors in London including Travel and Tourism, Creative Industries, Green Jobs and Healthcare. 

Classrooms were reimagined into real-world environments, giving students the opportunity to take on different roles and develop valuable skills for the future. 

Creative highlights included Weir and Yates turning their classrooms into fully functioning cinemas, while Fuller class created a hotel-style breakfast room where students took on roles such as receptionist, cook and waitress. Rowsell class impressed with their immersive airport experience, complete with check-in, security and an in-flight team, showcasing excellent teamwork and understanding of the aviation industry. 

Elsewhere, Wood class focused on healthcare, promoting healthy lifestyles and organising a whole-school fitness bleep test, while Johnson class explored green careers through gardening projects and a visit to Dobbie’s Garden Centre. Branson class also demonstrated strong enterprise skills by running a restaurant, serving a three-course meal with great organisation and teamwork. 

The week concluded with student presentations, reflecting on their experiences and learning. It was inspiring to see such enthusiasm and participation, with students gaining confidence, practical skills and a greater awareness of future career pathways.
