The Link School specialises in meeting the needs of students who have Speech, Language and Communication difficulties and provides placements for students from a wide range of local authorities.
This section provides key information including how the school spends the funding it receives, its policies and procedures, how students perform in exams and assessment, inspection information and the schools self-evaluation.
Our small special school values all our learners equally, recognising their individual strengths, barriers and aspirations. It provides a calm and nurturing environment in which to flourish.
View PageStudents at The Link School often choose to stay on after their Year 11 studies and join our Sixth Form in order to prepare for their adult lives. We also welcome students from other schools who meet our admission criteria.
View PageThe site currently caters for 28 young people over our 2 sites and a number of outreach students.
Our Satellite Centre Primary caters for Key Stage 1 and 2 students who benefit from a PDA approach to learning and our Satellite Centre Secondary caters for secondary aged students who need this approach.
The young people who attend the centres are taught across 5 classes and are grouped according to their learning pathway. This ensures the learning strategies and curriculum are the most effective for the students and that they have a suitable peer group to support their holistic learning needs.
They are called Explorer, Curiosity and Apollo at the Satellite Centre Primary and Artemis and Pioneer at the Satellite Centre Secondary.
