The Link School specialises in meeting the needs of students who have Speech, Language and Communication difficulties and provides placements for students from a wide range of local authorities.
This section provides key information including how the school spends the funding it receives, its policies and procedures, how students perform in exams and assessment, inspection information and the schools self-evaluation.
Extra- curricular activities are designed to widen the pupil’s opportunities and to motivate their overall learning. Most children have access to dance classes and to cookery classes. Also many children benefit from activities such as horse riding, football coaching, gardening and yoga.
We also run an after school dance/film club.
Pupils have access to the local and wider community as part of their curriculum offer. Children who have difficulties connecting their thinking require additional opportunities for community involvement in order to generalise skills learnt in the classroom.
As part of their everyday curriculum pupils access local shops, shopping centres, leisure centres and recreational facilities. Pupils also have opportunities to visit places related to their cross curricular area of studies, this may involve visits to the Theatre, Ecology sites and Museums.
My child is thriving and is given appropriate and new challenges to stimulate his learning development.
My daughter’s confidence is rising thanks to the school.
