The Link School specialises in meeting the needs of students who have Speech, Language and Communication difficulties and provides placements for students from a wide range of local authorities.
This section provides key information including how the school spends the funding it receives, its policies and procedures, how students perform in exams and assessment, inspection information and the schools self-evaluation.
The school caters for up to 53 children who are taught in 6 classes and are grouped according to their ability and learning need. This ensures the learning strategies and curriculum are the most effective for the pupils and that they have a suitable peer group to support their holistic learning needs. They are called Acorn, Willow, Maple, Hazel, Beech, and Oak.
To find out more about what each class are up to, please look on their class page.
There is a high adult to child ratio in each class to support the different needs of the children. A Speech and Language Therapist is attached to each class for one or two days a week and an Occupational Therapist for one day a week. Some additional Speech Therapy days and a permanent Occupational Therapy Assistant attached to the school ensure those with more complex therapy needs can access the provision they need to overcome their additional learning barriers.
