This week we have been celebrating Harvest and saying thank you for our food in our Special Moments and
Sensory Assemblies. In assembly there were a wide range of sensory items to explore which gave much delight to Beech, Acorn and Willow Classes.
Oliver particularly enjoyed exploring how to grind seeds with a pestle and mortar and Carla loved
the song which went with the action of leaves falling on an umbrella! Valentina liked driving the tractor
through the fields of wheat which were created with Shredded Wheat and Toby was fascinated by
the melon which he enjoyed rolling.
The activity which involved painting pumpkins was very popular and the end results were very colourful as
were the children’s hands!
Both assemblies reminded us of the joy that can be found in nature and the amazing range of foods that are
grown and harvested.
