Breck Foundation Visit
Today we welcomed the Breck Foundation to The Link School. Students had the opportunity to attend an informative session delivered by the foundation, focusing on online safety. The talk provided valuable insights into the risks that children and young people face in the digital world, with a particular emphasis on staying safe while gaming, using social media, and navigating online environments.
The Breck Foundation, established in memory of Breck Bednar, works to raise awareness of online dangers, including cyberbullying, grooming, and other harmful online behaviours. We were grateful to have them visit and share strategies with our students on how to protect themselves, recognise signs of danger, and navigate online spaces safely
The Breck Foundation has provided a wealth of resources for families, available on their website. These include:
• Parent Guides: Practical tips and advice on how to engage in conversations with your child about online safety.
• Video Resources: Educational videos that explain key issues such as online grooming, cyberbullying, and maintaining privacy on social media.
• E-Safety Checklists: Simple steps you can follow to ensure your child’s online activity is safe and secure.
You can access these resources on our E-Safety tab on our website: E-Safety – The Link School
